Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both of a speed and accuracy for detecting a difference between new data and old data.SOLUTION: A differential detection apparatus is configured to detect a differential between new data and old data by retrieving a data portion that is matched between the old data and the new data. The differential detection apparatus includes: a first retrieval part for retrieving a data portion that is roughly matched between the new data and the old data; a retrieval condition determination part for determining a retrieval condition on the basis of a result of the retrieval; and a second retrieval part for detecting the differential by retrieving a data portion that is precisely matched between the new data and the old data, on the basis of the determined retrieval condition. The first retrieval part retrieves the matched data portion while gradually widening a retrieval range of the old data and records a final retrieval range. For each of a plurality of blocks obtained by dividing the new data, the retrieval condition determination part determines as the retrieval condition the retrieval range of the old data in the block so as to become a retrieval range closer to a representative value of the retrieval range in the block.
