To provide a differential device having simplified construction, reduced in size and weight, improved in mountability and lower in costs, good in responsiveness, and stable and great in differential limiting force.
The differential device comprises rotary members 3, 17 rotated by receiving the driving force of a motor, input-side differential rotary members 5, 53, 55 to which the rotation of the rotary members 3, 17 is input, and output-side differential rotary members 7, 57, 9, 59 for distributing the driving force to wheel sides. It has a differential mechanism 11 using friction resistance for producing differential limiting force, friction clutches 13, 79 arranged between each of the members 3, 17 and each of the members 9, 59, and actuators 15, 87 for operating them.
