To provide a differential pressure-regulating valve used as a throttling device for a refrigerating cycle and air-conditioning equipment wherein a pressure-regulating valve has a simple constitution and keeps a fail-safe operation under an abnormal condition of a high-pressure refrigerant.
A valve seat 2 and a rod valve 3 are provided in a cylindrical body pipe 1. The rod valve 3 is held by bearings 4, 4. The rod valve 3 is penetrated through a valve-seat opening 21 of the valve seat 2. The rod valve 3 is urged by urging springs 5, 5 from both sides to the center. The rod valve 3 is moved in response to a differential pressure between the refrigerant pressure in a space A and the refrigerant pressure in a space B. In the inclined faces 31, 32 of the rod valve 3, the diameter of the rod valve 3 is made gradually smaller from the center to the ends. The flow of the refrigerant is throttled through the gap between the valve-seat opening 21 of the valve seat 2 and the inclined face 31, or the inclined face 32.
