Abstract:
To provide a new differentiation inducing agent effective for inducing the differentiation of malignant cells.
It has been found that monosodium 5,6-O-benzylidene-L-ascorbate (SBA) which is a known low-toxic compound has an action to induce the differentiation of cancer cells or tumor cells to normal cells and is effective for suppressing the formation of new blood vessel in the affected area of a patient of arthrorheumatism. The SBA is useful as a new differentiation inducing agent having excellent differentiation inducing action and extremely low toxicity.
