To provide a digital broadcast receiver effectively using a guard interval signal in surface wave digital television broadcast and a surface wave digital sound broadcast system.
Two output signals with different FFT (fast Fourier transform) fetch starting points are provided to first and second FFT parts 4, 7, conversion to frequency areas are performed in the respective parts, after that, phase difference in a frequency area between both output signals is eliminated by a phase compensation circuit 8 and both output signals are synthesized by a synthesizing circuit 9. For the signal after synthesis, power of the signal is increased for time difference of the FFT fetch starting point and signal power to noise power is increased. As a result, a C/N (carrier to noise) ratio is enhanced and error-proof performance is improved. Namely, the guard interval signal is effectively used, a time diversity effect is obtained and demodulation performance is enhanced.
