To set a receivable frequency including an adjoining area by determining the area adjoining to a specified area when a user sets an existing area or a current position.
A control unit 15 accesses an area information database 18 based on the information about a set existing area, to extract all prefectures or the like adjoining the existing area. The control unit 15 displays all adjacent areas extracted based on the set exiting area on a video & audio display unit 13 for confirmation of the user. The user uses a remote controller 21 to manually set the area having the broadcast which the user wants to receive as an adjacent area from among the presented prefectures or the like. The receivable frequency detected with a frequency inspection part 16 is stored in a key assignment information region 19a of a storage 19 as a first candidate station for a candidate station list 23 corresponding to the key of the remote controller 21.
