To provide a digital broadcast receiving device that displays a list of titles of messages and contents together with an audio-visual screen without obstructing the act of viewing and hearing.
The digital broadcast receiving device includes a control unit 25 that determines whether a set optical disk is available for a replay only or is recordable and controls a display screen. When the optical disk is set, the control unit 25 controls to display the display screen including a first display area to display contents of digital broadcast or an external input and a second display area to display a message indicative of preparations for the optical disk. In the case where the optical disc is available for replay only, the control unit displays only a replay screen of contents recorded at the optical disk when the preparations for the optical disk are completed. In the case where the optical disk is recordable, the control unit makes the second display area further display a list of titles of contents recorded at the optical disk and erases the message in the second display area when preparations for the optical disk are completed.
