To prevent reproduced additional information from being intermitted at rift of a program in a transmitter used for transmission of a digital broadcast program and a receiver used for receiving the digital broadcast program.
Program information of each broadcast program stored in a program information storage section 127 includes a information specifying a start time and an end time of a program, a PID(packet identifier) of additional information included in the program, and a flag that is used to designate whether or not reproduction of the additional information is finished when the program is finished. When the flag of a broadcast program that is being reproduced is '1' at rift of the program, a detection section 131 continues reproduction of the current additional information even when the end time of the broadcast program is part, and finishes the reproduction of the current additional information when the reproduction continuity flag is '0' and acquires additional information of a broadcast program going to be started next.
