A photography management system includes a digital camera 1 which comprises a reduced picture creation part 8 which creates a reduced picture from a picture photographed by an image pick-up part 7, an image memory 9, an operation part 11 including a function to select an image currently displayed in a display part 10, a camera ID memory 5 storing camera ID, an image ID creation part 13 which creates an image ID, and a communication part 14, etc.; and a management server 2 which comprises a communication part 24, a watermark synthesis part 23 which creates a watermark and synthesizes in an image, a management ID creation part 19 which creates the camera ID, a management DB 21 which stores information relating to management of the digital camera based on the camera ID, and an image information DB 18, etc.
