To construct a simple crime prevention system by using a digital camera.

The digital camera is provided with a human body detection sensor 11, and when the sensor 11 detects the approach of a person, an image pickup means is driven and a photographed picture is stored in a storage means 7. When the sensor 11 built in the camera detects the approach of a person, the camera takes a picture of surroundings and stores the picture data, so that the person approaching the camera can be checked by observing the stored picture data later. When an automobile is parked or user's own belongings are put on his (or her) desk or the like, a temporary crime prevention system can be simply constructed by using the digital camera.
