Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital CATV system and its transmission/reception method in which a center provides the service to each terminal equipment in a more individually considered way.
SOLUTION: A service processing section 111 sends program information consisting of title names and program numbers being a program information list denoting distribution available video/audio information to each terminal equipment. A service request section 105 at a terminal equipment side uses the received title names and program numbers as arguments to display a program selection menu window so as to accept a selection entry of a program desired by the user. A program edit section 107 at the terminal equipment side generates a program edition based on plural programs selected and entered by the users and stores it to a program edition storage section 108. The service request section 105 sends each program reproduction request sequentially to the service processing section 111 according to the program edition as above. Thus, a viewer can view continuously video and audio information corresponding to the desired program without notifying the VOD.
