PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of communication by recognizing a digital data error generated on a transmission line in each bit or frame as a pattern, judging a communication state based upon the pattern, finding out an optimum communication condition, and transmitting the condition to a transmitting side.
CONSTITUTION: A communication equipment 5 receives and decodes a data signal in accordance with a communication condition set up by a system controller 6, stores the decoded signal in a communication buffer 4 built in a communication controller 1 and detects its error. A bit one-frame error pattern judging part 3 prepares data capable of judging the statistical property of an error event such as a frame error rate, a bit error rate, the dispersion of an error frame interval, and a standard deviation, finds out a communication condition such as a data rate of a current communication equipment by the use of these data and judges an optimum communication condition to be adopted next. The judging part 3 generates a control signal parameter data to be transmitted/ received to/from an opposite equipment matched with a communication protocol signal and outputs the parameter data to a sequence control part 2.
