PURPOSE: To receive quickly an emergency broadcast independently of receiving state by detecting a control signal representing the emergency broadcast, operating a reception output of the emergency broadcast by this output and also stopping the operation of a circuit troubled for reception.

CONSTITUTION: A monaural or stereo audio signal, an emergnecy broadcast signal and a control signal representing the emergency broadcast of plural channels are inputted in time division multiplex via a CATV line, then they are converted into an intermediate frequency at a front end 2, demodulated into a base band signal by a PLL detector 3, the level is discriminated by a level comparator 4, a digital data is extracted and inputted to a data selector 5. The selected 5 data is fed to error correction circuits 6, 7 and the extracted control bit is fed to a control circuit 14 respectively. When an emergent broadcast bit is detected in the control bit, the circuit 14 activates a D/A converter 10 to output the emergency broadcast to a speaker 12, a D/A converter 8 is muted to stop the music and when a facsimile signal is given to the converter 10, the signal is operated as it is.
