Title:
DIGITAL TONE CONTROLLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3206271
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To implement proper amplification control free from digital clipping by minimizing the reduction of a dynamic range in digital tone control.
CONSTITUTION: Attenuators 10a, 10b attenuate an input signal by a prescribed value and tone filters 11a, 11b amplify a level of the input signal at a specific frequency band. The digital audio signal after the end of amplification is fed to a level discrimination section 12, and an amplified quantity calculation section 13 increases/decreases a variable K by multiplying a constant A being less than 1 or a positive constant B being 1 or over with the variable K based on the result of level discrimination. In this case, the controller is provided with a control means that limits the coefficient K within a range of a maximum value Kmax or below and a minimum value Kmin or over, and part of a coefficient of the tone filters is changed by the variable K to adjust the amplified quantity.
