Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a digital transmission system with various levels of transmission quality by increasing or decreasing the complication of a circuit on the transmitter side or the receiver side.
CONSTITUTION: The digital transmission system is provided with the transmitters 4, 6 and 9 and the receivers 13, 16 and 19. The transmitters includes an encoder which sub-band-encodes a digital signal by dividing the band of the digital signal into continuous sub-bands having almost equal band width. The receivers reproduce the copy of the digital signal by integrating the sub-bands into a digital signal band. The transmitters are provided with analyzing filter means 6 and the receivers are provided with filter means 16. In this case, a filter coefficient in the analyzing filter means is not equal to that in a synthetic filter means.
