PURPOSE: To provide an improved electronic architecture using a multiple line data bus for controlling video data.

CONSTITUTION: Binary image data is started at an IIT 10 and sent from a bus 12 to an ESS 18. A machine controller 14 has a program stored in response to an input signal from the IIT 10. Image signals are processed by a predetermined format of the ESS 18 and stored. Digital outputs from the ESS 18 are sent to an LED print bar control circuit 22 via a bus 20. Further, control outputs from the controller 14 are also sent to the circuit 22 via a bus 17. The circuit 22 carries out functions of reformatting, image-processing, correcting a print bar temperature, generating control signals and controlling an exposure level. Binary image data output from the circuit 22 are sent to a print bar 26 via a bus 24.
