Title:
DIGITAL VIDEO SIGNAL TRANSMITTING METHOD AND RECEIVER USED FOR THIS METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03171986
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain inverse quantization amplitude for a decoding video signal element to the pixels of a sub-image by making quantization amplitude equal to the minimum value of a video signal element in a sub-image at the time of inverse quantization. CONSTITUTION: Although the minimum value Umin of a video signal in a sub- image is quantized and also can be allocated to a 1st pixel of a sub-image that is represented by a binary class 00, it does not always need to be a pixel pe (2, 3). The value Umin can be allocated to >=1 samples that are represented by the binary class 00, but the value Umin is not allocated to all of the samples that are represented by the binary class 00. For example, the Umin can be allocated at most to half the samples of all the samples, but it must surely be assigned to at least one among the samples. For all the samples that are represented by a binary class 11, a maximum value Umax is allocated to at least one of the samples at the time of inverse quantization. As a result of this, the inverse quantization amplitude of a sub-image can be acquired.
