PURPOSE: To provide a new dihydropyridine having a substd. ester useful as a medicine, especially, an agent having cerebral action.
CONSTITUTION: A dihydropyridine having a substd. ester represented by formula I (wherein R1 is a 1-6C alkyl or 3-6C cycloalkyl; R2 and R3 is H; and R4 is an acyl, crybonyl or alkyl substd. with a group represented by formulae II, III or the like) and its salt, for example, cyclopentyl 2-(2-oxopyrrolidine)ehtyl 4-(2,3-difluorophenyl)-1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethylpyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate represented by formula IV are designated. The compd. represented by the formula I is obtained, for example, by reacting a compd. represented by formula V (wherein Y forms a reactive carboxylic acid deriv. along with -CO) with a compd. represented by the formula; R4-OH in an inert solvent in the presence of a base.
