Abstract:
To obtain a new diphosphine useful for stabilizing a thermoplastic polymer against a heat discoloration.
This diphosphine is a compound of formula I [R2 and R3 are each an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, a (substituted) aryl or an aryl-alkyl; R4 is an alkylene, a cycloalkylene, a (substituted) arylene or the like; A is a divalent group containing O, SO2, SO or the like], e.g. bis(4,4-hydroxyphenyldiphenyl- phosphine) carboxylic acid ester. Further, the compound of the formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of the formula: XAX (X is a halogen, hydroxy, an alkoxy or the like).
