To provide a direct liquid type writing implement capable of maintaining stable writing performance over a long period of time even though a pipe type ballpoint pen tip is adopted as a pen point thereof.
The direct liquid type writing implement includes the pen point 2, an ink tank 4 that directly stores ink, and an ink holding member 3 that is arranged between the pen point 2 and the ink tank 4 and temporarily holds ink overflown in association with an increase in the inner pressure of the ink tank 4. The ink tank 4 is detachably attached at the rear of the ink holding member 3. The pen point 2 is formed of a ballpoint pen tip in which a ball 24 is rotatably held by an inward tip edge 22 that is formed by press-deforming a tapered tip part of a metallic pipe 2 inward in the radial direction and a plurality of inward protrusions 23 that are formed by press-deforming side walls in the vicinity of the tip of the metallic pipe 2 inward in the radial direction. An antiwear coating layer 25 is provided on the inside of each protrusion 23 and/or on the surface of the ball 24.
