PURPOSE: To obtain an image having excellent color reproducibility and high sharpness by incorporating a specified magenta coupler into a green- photosensitive emulsion layer and providing an photo insensitive layer between the green-photosensitive emulsion layer and a blue photosensitive emulsion layer.

CONSTITUTION: The green-photosensitive emulsion layer contains a pyrazoloazole magenta coupler expressed by formula, and an photo insensitive layer containing a yellow coupler is interposed between the green photosensitive layer and the blue photosensitive layer. In formula, Za and Zb are independently =C(RM2)-(wherein RM2 is hydrogen atom or substituent) or =N-, X is hydrogen atom or a group which can be released by coupling reaction with an aromatic primary amino developer agent oxidized body, RM1 is hydrogen atom or substituent and may be a part of an aromatic ring when Za and Zb form a carbon- carbon double bond, and further a polymer body larger than a dimer may be formed with RM1, RM2 or X.
