Abstract:

To improve a heat insulating property and to prevent generation of a creak by arranging a mesh type sheet on the back plate surface of a brake disc pad in an automobile and the like.

Although material for a mesh type sheet 3 is not limited, metal, ceramics, carbon, glass or a mixture of them is desirable for the material in respect of strength, and ceramics is especially excellent in a heat insulating property. For the metal, Al, Cr, an alloy principally containing them are available. For the ceramics, SiO2, Al2O3, Si3N4, SiC and the like are available. The mesh which is 16-600 mesh and provided with thickness of 0.5-5mm is feasible. The mesh type sheet 3 is connected to a friction member 1 and a back plate 2 by means of a rivet, an adhesive, and welding. As the mesh type sheet 3 is provided with high porosity, so that it is provided with low thermal conductivity and may easily absorb frictional vibration causing a creak.
