To achieve a discharge heating device, preventing a reduction in discharge performance caused by molten substance of an object of combustion and a partial abnormal heating, etc., which occurs in a structure having two electrodes for electric discharge heating placed horizontally from side to side, and also suppressing deterioration caused by sublimation of the electrodes in an oxidized atmosphere.
The heater comprises an insulating member 11 forming a space 14 inside; an upper part electrode 12 disposed on the member 11 to close the upper part of the space 14; a rotatable lower part electrode 13 disposed inside the member 11 so that its bottom surface faces the space 14 of the member 11; and a plurality of ball-like heating elements 15 disposed on the upper surface of the lower electrode 13. The inside of the space 14 is filled with inactive gases, the upper surface of the lower part electrode 13 is formed as a conical surface, on an inner peripheral surface of the member 11, circular inside inner circumference surface parts and a plurality of notches 22 disposed at fixed intervals in a circumferential direction are formed alternatively, then, electric discharge is performed among the upper part electrode 12 and the heating elements 15.
