Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce a glare in a headlight equipped with a reflector and a discharge lamp comprising an inner envelope and a shroud surrounding it.
CONSTITUTION: A seal 59 with a low outline is provided between the rear tubular part 36 of an inner envelop and the reduced-diameter part 60 of a rear hollow part 56 surrounding it in order to join them. An integrally expanded part 68 with a large diameter is provided at the front tubular part 34 of the inner envelope, and a seal 57 is formed between it and the front hollow part 54 of the shroud. Preferably, the center axis line 85 of a bulbous part 52 is disposed by shifting it upward relative to the center axis line 37 of the inner envelope. The front region 77 of the bulbous part is formed into a spherical shape and the rear area 75 is formed into an elliptical shape.
