To provide a discharge lamp and a discharge lamp lighting device that prevent or suppress generation of a leakage current between power supply lead wires when abnormality occurs.
There is provided the discharge lamp that has a discharge space filled with gas for discharge which generates excimer molecules and is configured to have a dielectric between at least one electrode between two electrodes for inducing the gas for discharge to generate a discharge and the gas for discharge, the discharge lamp having one power supply lead wire and the other power supply lead wire electrically connected to the two electrodes to be arranged side by side, and also having a capacitive coupling shield member, extending side by side with the one power supply lead wire and the other power supply lead wire and connected to a stable-potential node, interposed in at least a partial region between the power supply lead wires.
