Abstract:

To prevent the error of connecting a socket to the base of a discharge lamp of different lamp power.

A discharge lamp 1 has a discharge tube 2 and an E screw type base 5. A socket 31 has a socket main body 32 and a carrier 33 to which the 51 screw type base 5 is connected. The base 5 is provided with a base side restricting portion 26 restricting the connection of the base 5 to a socket 31 for lamp power different from predetermined lamp power. The socket 31 is provided with a socket side restricting portion 44 restricting connection to the base 5 of a discharge lamp 1 of lamp power different from the predetermined lamp power. The error of connecting the socket 31 to the base 5 of the discharge lamp 1 of different lamp power is prevented by the base side restricting portion 26 and the socket side restricting portion 44.
