Title:
DISCHARGE LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3164957
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve starting of a discharge lamp by emission of an electric field electron from a solid surface without relying on a photoelectric effect of a substance whose work function is small or a generating means of an electron caused by decay of a radioactive substance.
CONSTITUTION: In a cold cathode fluorescent lamp 1, an inside surface of a bulb 2 is coated with a phosphor 4 containing an inorganic compound, for example, hexagonal system baron nitride 3 by 10weight%, and mercury vapor and argon gas are sealed inside. Bases 5a and 5b are arranged in both end parts of the bulb 2, and electrodes 6a and 6b are respectively sealed in these bases 5a and 5b. Conductive foil 7 connected to one base 5a is stuck to an outside surface of the bulb 2 over the vicinity of the electrode 6b from the base 5a.
