Abstract:
PURPOSE:To avoid such a trouble where the drive of an unmanned carrier is stopped due to the absence of a driving mark by changing the processing areas for inclusion of a driving mark in case said mark is not included in the processing area due to such a trouble that is naturally recovered. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 11 carries out in order an image pickup processing, a recognition processing, an arithmetic processing, and a drive control processing respectively. Then the CPU 11 reads out the lightness data on a group of picture elements contained in an area e1 including no mark to obtain the picture element of the highest lightness, i.e., the maximum value MaxE1 in case an ambiguous mark or the presence of the mark is decided in the recognition process. At the same time, the picture element of the highest lightness, i.e., the maximum value MaxE2 is obtained from the lightness data on a group of picture elements contained in an area e2 including the mark. The absolute value of the difference between both maximum values is compared with the reference value DELTAQ1. When said absolute value larger than or equal to the value DELTAQ1, the inclusion of a mark 6 is decided for a process area (e). Then the drive control is performed.
