Title:
DISENGAGEABLE DESCENDER HAVING SELF-LOCK MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3649774
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a self-lock descending device which is safe and easy to use.
CONSTITUTION: The safe descending device includes a pulley 16 having a cam where a drive finger 210 is provided to cooperate with a mechanism 202 having a transmission bar 208. The drive finger 210 is movable between an engaging position for the active drive finger 210 where a unidirectional mechanical connection of an operating handle 24 with the pulley 16 is established when the handle 24 is operated toward a release position in the middle of descending operation, and an inactive release position where the mechanical connection is removed to release the pulley 16 and return the cam automatically to the fixed position by the pulling force of the rope. This allows the fixing effect of the rope to be maintained even after the pulley 16 has been released and without keeping a force applied to the handle 24.
