To obtain a disinfectant widely effective for gram-positive bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant enterococcus and a gram-negative bacteria such as Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the other microorganisms including fungi.
This disinfectant comprises an antibacterial coloring agent, an antibacterial medicine and an organic acid. The disinfectant comprises, particularly preferably, gentiana violet, a citric acid-based buffering agent and polymixin. The disinfectant exhibits synergistic effect on the gram-negative bacteria, particularly by combination of three agents. The disinfectant is a pharmaceutical preparation which enables not only enhancement of sterilization effect and enlargement of antibacterial spectrum, but also pH adjustment by buffer action and can contribute to alleviation of pain due to by irritating property of pH and attenuation of corrosive action by pH.
