PURPOSE: To prevent the movement of each friction pad at the time of braking by forming the rotor rotating directional end face of the back plate in each friction pad in a wedge shape in the rotor radial direction, and by forming projected parts or recessed parts on each arm part in a mounting in the rotor rotating direction.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of braking, a frictional force F in the rotor tangential direction B is applied to each of friction pads 11, 12 through a disk rotor 10. In this frictional force F, the force F1 in the direction normal to respective torque receiving surfaces 13a1, 13b1 is received by respective torque receiving surfaces, and the parallel force F2 acting on respective friction pads 11, 12 as a sliding force is received by the engagement of the projected parts 13a2, 13b2 having been formed on respective arm parts 13a, 13b with the outer circumferential corner parts 11a2, 12a2 of back plates in respective friction pads 11, 12. Thus, respective friction pads 11, 12 are maintained in a stable condition in both the rotating direction of the rotor 10 and the radial direction of the rotor 10 by the frictional force F exerted by the disk rotor 10, and the movement thereof is perfectly prevented.
