PURPOSE: To increase the searching speed in a disk cache control system, by entering a head block to a prescribed position to turn on a valid flag when the data given to a cache memory shows the continuous blocks and storing the entry pointer of the following blocks into a continuous block pointer to successively link the entries together.
CONSTITUTION: A disk cache control part 1 includes a continuous blocks analyzing part 2, an entry table 3, a cache memory 4, etc. The table 3 stores the continuous block valid flags 3-1, the continuous block pointers 3-2, etc. When a fact that the data stored in the memory 4 shows the continuous blocks is analyzed by the part 2, a head block that is calculated by a function deciding an entry is entered to a prescribed position of the table 3. Then the flag 3-1 is turned on to show the presence of the continuous blocks. Furthermore the pointer of the flowing blocks are stored in the pointer 3-2 and the entries of the continuous blocks are successively linked together.
