Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten waiting time even when I/O processing requests compete.
CONSTITUTION: This controller is provided with plural directors for executing I/O processings with a disk device 26 by I/O requests from plural hosts and a shared memory 14 shared by the plural directors and the plural directors 1A are respectively provided with an exclusive control means 2A for letting the I/O processing from the host 20A standby at the time of an occupied state where the I/O processing of the disk device 26 is performed by the other director 1B. Further, the director 1A is provided with an inter-director order control means 3A for storing the order of the present director 1A to the other directors 1B, 1C and 1D in the shared memory 4 as a director order table 5 when the disk device 26 is in the occupied state at the time of receiving the I/O request from the host 20A.
