Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow another host to make access to a disk device by enabling the release of the reserved state of the disk device when a host reserved with the disk device is hung up.
CONSTITUTION: A disk controller (#1) 9 receiving a reservation command to a disk device (#1) 12 from a host (#2) 4 rejects the reservation request when the disk device (#1) 12 is assigned to a host (#1) 3. As long as the disk controller (#1) 9 reserves the disk device even when the command not accepted, it transmits a response confirmation command to the host (#1) 3 issuing the reservation command at specified interval and when there is no response, releases the reserving state of the disk device (#1) 12. Thus, access from the other host is avairable.
