Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk playback unit which skips a useless data part on an optical disk, and can efficiently play back a video, and to provide a disk playback method.
SOLUTION: When performing the manual search of contents in which a plurality of VOBUs(video object units) less than 16 sectors are present in the same block data, in a forward direction, a disk playback unit 1 skips the VOBUs from the head to the tail in the block data and plays back data. Meanwhile, when performing the manual search in the opposite direction, the contents are played back by skipping the VOBUs from the tail to the head in the block data. Thereby, other VOBUs between VOBUs positioned at the both ends of the block data are omitted to efficiently play back data.
