PURPOSE: To record a color image in an extremely efficient manner, by mounting a color image synthesizing apparatus for irradiating the original formed on an optical recording disk with light having plural kinds of wavelengths from a regeneration light source and for synthesizing a color image on a light receiving surface by the light passing through fine openings constituting the original.

CONSTITUTION: A color image synthesizing apparatus 14 is equipped with a switching circuit 60 for performing the switching control of regeneration light sources 42, 44, 46 in synchronous relation to the rotation of an optical recording disk 10. When the original of an image recording region 22a is irradiated with light having a wavelength λ1 and the original of an image recording region 22b is irradiated with light having a wavelength λ2 and the original of an image forming region 22c is irradiated with light having a wavelength λ3, the image of lights having three kinds of wavelengths λ1, λ2, λ3 is synthesized to form a color image on a light receiving surface. Usually, a material equipped with photosensitive color formers, such as color photographic paper or photosensitive pressure-sensitive paper, is arranged to said light receiving surface 40. When the photosensitive pressure-sensitive paper is used, an objective hue is formed after said paper is developed.
