To solve the problem that the number of components is increased by a chucking pulley and a solenoid and the whole recording and/or playback device is made large (thick) in the vertical direction since the conventional disk recording and/or playback device uses magnetic force of the chucking pulley and the solenoid for vertically driving a disk cover.

In this disk recording and/or playback device provided with a disk tray 12 having a disk housing part 11 in which a disk-like recording medium D is housed so as to be freely loaded and unloaded, a tray housing casing 13 movably supporting the disk tray 12 and a disk cover 14 attached to a tray housing part 60 so that the attitude thereof can be changed and covering the whole disk housing part 11, rise and fall parts 64 protruding to the disk tray 12 side are provided at the disk cover 14, recessed parts 17 in/from which the rise and fall parts 64 can be inserted/taken out are provided in the disk tray 12 and the rise and fall parts 64 are inserted in the recessed parts 17 to close the disk housing part 11 by the disk cover 14.
