Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a dispersion auxiliary giving uniform vinylic polymer particles having an excellent porosity on the suspension polymerization of the vinylic compound; a method for producing the vinylic polymer excellent in various physical properties; and a method for producing the vinylic polymer especially highly improved in thermal stability.
CONSTITUTION: The dispersion auxiliary comprises a water-insoluble polymer composed from the units of a radically polymerizable monomer and having a SH group at its one end. The method for producing the vinylic polymer comprises suspension-polymerizing a vinylic compound in the presence of the dispersion auxiliary in an aqueous medium heated to ≥40°C. And the method for producing the vinylic polymer comprises adding the water-insoluble polymer having the SH group at its one end at the time when the polymerization degree is ≤60%, and subsequently suspension-polymerizing the vinylic compound.
