Abstract:
To perform information display in an easily understandable manner regardless of connection or non-connection of a display.SOLUTION: When a system control unit 110 determines that an LCD panel 107 is not attached to a digital video camera 100, it disables an "LCD on-screen display" setting that is a setting for turn-on and off of OSD display for the LCD panel 107, and when the "LCD on-screen display" setting is turned off, it automatically changes the "LCD on-screen display" setting from turn-off to turn-on. In this way, after the LCD panel 107 is attached, the digital video camera can be operated with the "LCD on-screen display" setting being turned-on. Thus can avoid a situation where a user does not understand an operation to change the "LCD on-screen display" setting to turn-on or a situation where the user is perplexed because of the absence of OSD display including a menu screen on the LCD panel 107.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
