To prevent omission of diagnostic reading when the number of images to be read is large, for example, during image diagnosis of series images acquired by CT (computed tomography) or MR (magnetic resonance).
An apparatus for image diagnosis has a function which forms intermediate data 13 recording information about output status while acquiring and outputting an image group used for diagnosis from a PACS (picture archiving and communiation system) server 3 and to a monitor 19. The intermediate data 13 records, for example, IDs, output time or the like of outputted images. The apparatus also has a function which forms information about display history by totalizing the intermediate data 13 and outputs the formed information as display history data 15. The content of the display history data 15 is used to determine whether insufficiently displayed images are present or not. Determination is carried out when a predetermined determination requesting operation is performed or when a diagnosis ending operation is performed. When an insufficiently displayed image is determined to be present, a warning sound is outputted from a speaker 17 or the like to warn an operator.
