To provide a display device where adhesion of dust to an optical modulation element is more easily prevented and the optical modulation element is more efficiently cooled.
A GLV 31-1 to a GLV 31-3 modulate light for displaying an image. A housing 121 inside which the GLV 31-1 to the GLV 31-3 are housed intercepts the entrance of air from which dust is not removed and makes air from which dust is removed pass through. A duct 141-1 to a duct 141-3 are arranged inside the housing 121 respectively so as to surround the GLV 31-1 to the GLV 31-3, and provided with notches for making the incident light and the emitted light of the GLV 31-1 to the GLV 31-3 pass through, and make the air which passes through the housing 121 and from which the dust is removed flow along the GLV 31-1 to the GLV 31-3 respectively. The invention is applied to a front projector.
