Abstract:
To provide a display device capable of appropriately protecting observers when displaying using a laser beam with a large output that causes a plasma to be generated in gas while suppressing the frequency of display stoppages to protect the observers.SOLUTION: The display device includes: a laser irradiation device that irradiates a display position in a gas with a laser beam in a predetermined wavelength range to form plasma at the display position; an object detection device that detects the presence or absence of an object in a predetermined space; and a control unit that determines a prescribed space based on the display position and the intensity of laser light scattered at the display position or passed through the display position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
