The display device 100 has a color filter 102 equipped with light-emitting elements 1R, 1G, and 1B, and filters 19R, 19G, and 19B. The light-emitting elements 1R, 1G, and 1B respectively have negative electrodes 12, positive electrodes 3, light-emitting sections arranged between the negative electrode 12 and the positive electrode 3 and having a plurality of light-emitting layers, and hole injection layers 4R, 4G, and 4B arranged between the positive electrode 3 and the light-emitting section so as to come in contact with the positive electrode 3 and having hole injection characteristics. Degrees of hole injection characteristics between the hole injection layer 4R of the light-emitting element 1R and the hole injection layers 4G, 4B of the light-emitting elements 1G, 1B are mutually different, and consequently, light-emitting characteristics between the light-emitting section of the light-emitting element 1R and the light-emitting sections of the light-emitting elements 1G, 1B are mutually different.
