Abstract:

To provide a display device which can maintain good display performance for a long period of time, and a manufacturing method of the display device.

The display device comprises an effective part 106 which is formed on the main face 120A of a substrate and has a plurality of picture elements for displaying an image, a protruded part 400 arranged along the outer periphery of the effective part, and a sealing body 300 arranged so as to cover at least the effective part 106 of the substrate main face 120A. The sealing body 300 has a laminated structure of buffer layers 311, 312 arranged inside surrounded by the protruded part 400 and barrier layers 320, 321 and 322 which are larger patterns than those of the buffer layers, and furthermore, cover the buffer layers and overlap at least a part of the protruded part 400.
