This display device for the vehicle includes a sight line direction detecting means for detecting the direction of the line of sight of the driver, a sight line moving passage detecting means for detecting a passage of moving the line of sight from the direction of the line of sight detected by the sight line direction detecting means, an expected behavior detecting means for detecting behavior expected by the driver based on the passage of the line of sight detected by the sight line moving passage detecting means, an information selecting display means for selecting information corresponding to expected behavior of the driver detected by the expected behavior detecting means, and a display device for displaying the information content selected by the information selecting display means. Since the expected behavior of the driver is detected from a moving passage of the line of sight, the expected behavior of the driver can be precisely detected, and accurate information can be displayed for the driver.
