PURPOSE: To uniformize a surface temp. of a display panel.

CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device is constituted so that a back light 2 is arranged on a rear surface side of a liquid crystal panel 3. The back light 2 is constituted of a fluorescent tube 7 of a plane U-shape, a light diffusing plate 8 provided on the upper part of the fluorescent tube 7 and of which upper surface becomes a light emission surface and a reflection plate 9 provided on the bottom part of the fluorescent tube 7. In such a case, since two electrodes 10 of the fluorescent tube 7 are bent to the opposite side of the light diffusing plate 8 for a plane formed by the fluorescent tube 7, the electrodes 10 of the fluorescent tube 7 are separated from the light diffusing plate 8, and the matter that the light diffusing plate 8 is heated partially is prevented, and the surface temp. of the liquid crystal display panel 3 is uniformized. Thus, it is prevented from occurring that display unevenness occurs on the liquid crystal display panel 3, and the liquid crystal panel 3 becomes display impossible..
