To obtain a display device constituted to be thin without a joint, irregular color nor irregular luminance on a picture by projecting an image transmitted through a liquid crystal panel to a screen by a lens element enlarging light and correcting image distortion in a state where the image is enlarged and its distortion is corrected.
A unit display is constituted from a light source 1 to a 2nd lens group 4. A 1st lens group 2 is constituted of two lenses having positive refractive power, the liquid crystal display panel is used as a light transmissive type display 3, and the 2nd lens group 4 is constituted of one lens having negative refractive power. After divergent light emitted from the light source 1 passes through the 1st lens group 2, it becomes parallel luminous flux, and the parallel luminous flux passed through the display 3 is deflected by the 2nd lens group 4 so as to obtain the enlarged picture of the display 3 on the screen 5. The display device is formed by arraying the unit displays in a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction ten by ten.
