To obtain a display device which has a distinct and large display area by spot light sources of a small number by displaying light patterns consisting of a plurality of the spot light sources on the surface of a Fresnel sheet by the light projected toward the rear surface of the Fresnel sheet from the spot light sources.

A unit pixel 2 is composed of one piece of a light emitting element 4 consisting of an LED which is the spot light source disposed on a substrate 3 of a plane rectangular shape and the Fresnel sheet 5 of the plane rectangular shape which is disposed apart a prescribed spacing without tight contact with the light emitting element 4. With such constitution, the Fresnel lens surface 6 of a front surface 5b is irradiated light as shown by an arrow A via the rear surface 5a of the Fresnel sheet 5 from the light emitting element 4. The large light pattern enclosing the one spot light source of an approximately circular shape with the six spot light sources of the approximately circular shape is formed around the one spot light source on the Fresnel lens surface 6 of the Fresnel sheet 5. As a result, the display area of the unit pixel 3 distinctly displayed by the one spot light source can be largely assured.
