To provide a display device which can be manufactured with reduced weight, thickness, cost and process time by using only one substrate.
A display device includes: a substrate including a plurality of pixel areas; a thin film transistor on the substrate; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor and formed in the pixel areas; a roof layer connected along a pixel area adjacent in a first direction among the pixel areas, and separated from the pixel electrode in the pixel area; a plurality of columns protruded from the roof layer in a boundary portion of the pixel areas; a space between the pixel electrode and the roof layer in the pixel areas, the roof layer partially covering an upper face and a part of a side face of the space; a liquid crystal filling the space; and a cover film covering the remaining side faces of the space not covered with the roof layer.
