Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which the variation in the threshold voltage of a transistor can be compensated and the suppression of variation in luminance is made possible, and to provide a driving method using the same.SOLUTION: An initial voltage is held in a holding capacitor in a first period; the voltage based on a video signal voltage and the threshold voltage of the transistor are held in the holding capacitor in a second period; and the voltage held in the holding capacitor in the second period is applied to a gate electrode of the transistor in a third period, thereby supplying a current to a light emitting element to make the light emitting element emit light. By the operation process, the current compensated for the influence of the variation in the threshold voltage of the transistor can be supplied to the light emitting element, and the variation in the luminance can be suppressed.
